About the Instructor

Mrs. Sweeney graduated from Grondins College of Cosmetology in August of 1982.  She brings 30+ years in the salon in industry in a variety of different roles, from stylist to management, to teacher.  First year licensed she worked at the Hadley Clipper, then on to The Hair Express in Lapeer for 7 years as well as owning an in home salon for 10 years.  She has worked for Grondins for 20+ years.  Mrs. Sweeney is a licensed cosmetologist as well as licensed instructor.

Mrs. Grossbauer has been working both in the salon and teaching for over twenty years and teaching cosmetology full-time for over ten years.  She graduated from Grondins College of Cosmetology with her cosmetology license in 1998 and her instructors license in 2001.  She currently teaches second year Ed-Tech students and finds it to be on of the most rewarding positions of her career.  When not teaching or doing her family’s hair, Mrs. Grossbauer likes to read, cook and kayak.  She loves animals and is active with her church, her book club and her large, close-knit family.

 
Mrs. Thokala graduate from Grondins College of Cosmetology in July of 2017.  She is a licensed cosmetologist as well as a licensed instructor.  When not teaching, Mrs. Thokala holds a job in the private sector as well as a stylist with Grondins Hair Centers.  She hopes to help create a passion and love for the cosmetology industry.

 
Mrs. Cunningham brings to her cosmetology class 25 plus years’ experience from behind the chair and in the classroom.  She holds an Associates Degree of Applied Science from Bob Jones University.  Her favorite subjects to teach are highlighting, waxing, and perming.  Mrs. Cunningham’s greatest pleasure in her career has been to help mold her students into the stylists they will one day become.  When not in the classroom, Mrs. C. can be found at home baking, playing games with her family, reading, or watching old movie.
