Mrs. Dawn Cowhy, the CTE Instructor, is not only a Certified Teacher in the state of Michigan but is a Registered Nurse as well. Mrs. Cowhy’s knowledge as a teacher married with her experience as a nurse makes her able to ensure students receive a well-rounded education in health sciences while at the same time preparing them for college and careers in health care. During the ten  years she has been an instructor at Education and Technology Center she has developed partnerships with local health care providers who provide students with work experience placements in the field; providing them with a realistic expectations and experience in their desired specialty.

Mrs. Melissa Stallsmith, the CTE Paraprofessional, is a certified Pharmacy Technician in the state of Michigan who has worked at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. She has also worked at Orion Family Physicians in office management.  Her experiences bring to our classroom a side of the  health science careers an array of experiences.  Mrs. Stallsmith has been parapro in our classroom for the past two years and provides the students extra support and encouragement when needed.
